Nasri not joining Inter – agent

Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri will not be moving to Inter, according to his agent Jean-Pierre Bernes.

Nasri struggled for regular game time at City last season and he has emerged as a transfer target for former manager Roberto Mancini and Inter, who are set to sell Mateo Kovacic.

Mancini brought out the best in Nasri during City s Premier League-winning campaign in 2011-12, but the 28-year-old France international has no plans for a reunion.

I ve heard rumours in Italy about Inter and Samir, Bernes told FCInterNews. However, there s absolutely nothing concrete with the Nerazzurri.

Will he stay in Manchester? I can say that there s nothing with Inter.

Nasri has been named among the substitutes for City s opening two league victories thi…

Doumbia to sign for West Brom

Rennes midfielder Tongo Doumbia has claimed that he is set to seal a move to West Brom.

The 22-year-old is believed to have held talks with the Baggies earlier this week, despite reported interest from Arsenal.

And Doumbia, who is thought to cost around two million pounds, has revealed that the increased chances of regular first-team action led him to choose West Brom.

I have no regrets about leaving Rennes, I go quietly and with a smile on my face, I have no grudges against the club, he told 20Minutes in France.

I felt a lot of desire from them, obviously it is less glamorous than Arsenal, but I will be able to continue my progress.

Tongo, who has been at Rennes since 2009, learned his trade at Ligue 2 outfit LB Chateauroux, before making the…

Left-back, right-back, midfield… Fernandinho happy as Guardiola´s ´Mr Fixit´ at Manchester City

Against Bournemouth I played on the left. It’s one of his ideas of the game. We tried to implement it and I think this is a very important aspect and quality to have.

To be able to adjust in different positions and try to keep a good rhythm during the match and help the team to win is good for the whole team and as individuals because we broaden our own experience. If there’s a situation where we have to slot in somewhere else, we may already know that role well.

Against both Swansea and Bournemouth, second-half substitutions saw Fernandinho revert to the screening midfield role he carried out with aplomb earlier in the season before red cards against Chelsea and Burnley meant a total of seven games on the sidelines.

The previously exiled Yaya Toure took o…

Platini should be allowed to stand for FIFA presidency – Lefkaritis

UEFA vice-president Marios Lefkaritis believes Michel Platini should be allowed to stand for the FIFA presidency despite his implication in the corruption scandal that has rocked world football s governing body.

Platini has served as UEFA president since 2007 but was suspended for 90 days by FIFA after the Swiss attorney general opened a criminal investigation into an alleged disloyal payment made by outgoing FIFA president Sepp Blatter to Platini in 2011.

The payment is widely reported to be £1.35million relating to work the former France captain undertook for FIFA between 1999 and 2002.

Platini had previously announced his intention to stand as a candidate in next year s FIFA presidential election after Blatter laid down his mandate in June, six days after …

Bayern star Muller offers no guarantees on long-term future

Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller says he cannot guarantee he will spend the rest of his career at the club, although he insists he is happy at the Allianz Arena.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed a resurgence in form under Jupp Heynckes and registered a goal and two assists in the 4-0 Bundesliga win over Freiburg on Sunday.

Muller, who has spent his whole career with the German champions, admitted last September to being tempted by an offer from Manchester United in 2015, when former Bayern boss Louis van Gaal was in charge at Old Trafford.

And although he has no plans to leave at present, he concedes his circumstances could change.

It s hard to look three or four years into the future, he told Sport1. If things are going well, why should I want to leave?

Neymar dedicates 100th Barcelona goal to team-mates

Neymar revelled in his milestone match and thanked his team-mates after joining the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in Barcelona s 100-goal club.

The 25-year-old Brazilian forward made it a century of goals in 177 matches for the LaLiga titleholders as Barca routed Granada 4-1 on Sunday.

Neymar who arrived at Camp Nou from Santos in 2013 brought up his landmark in stoppage time with a left-footed volley, to follow in the footsteps of countrymen Rivaldo and Evaristo and become the third Brazilian player to reach the milestone at Barca.

I am happy to reach goal 100 and I dedicate it to my colleagues who always help me, Neymar told Barca TV.

I am happy with the victory that is the important thing.

I stay with everyone because everyone has…

Man City and Chelsea to fight for Chillwell

Leicester City s great start to the season is not going to go unnoticed. The champions from 2016 have started pretty well in the new campaign with one of the youngest squads in the league. James Maddison is already attracting biggest English clubs, whilst Ricardo Pereira is now Portugal international. But Ben Chillwell could be the one many will talk about.

According to The Mirror, Leicester could be looking for a new left-back, as they are reportedly preparing for life without Ben Chillwell. The report is suggesting that Chelsea and Manchester City are both interested in going after Chillwell either in January or next summer and therefore, the Foxes might lose their first option at left-back.

Marcos Alonso is not completely to the taste of Frank Lampard, why Man City a…

Coutinho, Arthur want Neymar back at Barcelona

Neymar s Brazil team-mates Philippe Coutinho and Arthur want the Paris Saint-Germain star to return to Barcelona.

A world-record €222million move to PSG in 2017 saw Neymar surprisingly bring an end to what had been a very promising four-year spell at Camp Nou.

But ever since joining PSG, Neymar has regularly been linked with a transfer back to Spain, with reports of Real Madrid s interest recently giving way to rumours he wants to return to Barca.

PSG and their president Nasser Al-Khelaifi are said to be frustrated with Neymar s attitude and constant flirting with other clubs.

As such, speculation has suggested PSG are open to selling Neymar in this transfer window, and Coutinho and Arthur have given their respective seals of approval.

Poland 0-2 Argentina: Mac Allister and Alvarez send La Albiceleste through after Messi penalty miss

Second-half goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Julian Alvarez helped Argentina secure their last-16 place with a 2-0 victory over Poland, despite Lionel Messi’s earlier penalty miss at Stadium 974.

La Albiceleste topped Group C while despite defeat, due to Mexico s 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia, the Poles snatched second place by virtue of a superior goal difference to El Tri.

Although Wojciech Szczesny brilliantly saved Messi’s first-half spot-kick, Mac Allister and Alvarez struck after the break as Argentina advanced from the group phase for the 13th time in 14 attempts.

However, due to Saudi Arabia s late goal against Mexico, Poland joined Argentina in the knockout stage courtesy of superior goal difference, progressing to the round of 16 for the first time si…

Conte confirms Spurs will appeal UEFA´s ´unfair´ Europa Conference League decision

Antonio Conte suggested Tottenham will take UEFA to court over the governing body s unfair decision that consequently eliminated his side from the Europa Conference League.

Spurs final group match against Rennes on December 9 was called off late on following a coronavirus outbreak at the Premier League club that saw five staff members and eight players test positive.

With a new date unable to be set for their European encounter, UEFA ruled that Spurs had forfeited the game and awarded Rennes a 3-0 victory, therefore eliminating Conte s side from the competition.

However, Conte does not agree with UEFA s decision to award Rennes the win and claimed the outcome may even have been influenced by personal interest .

For sure this is an incredible decision…
