Paris Saint-Germain missed out on the Champions League again but head coach Unai Emery said he is happy with the club s season after the French giants completed a domestic treble.

PSG added the Coupe de France trophy to their Ligue 1 and Coupe de la Ligue triumphs this terms thanks to Tuesday s 2-0 win over third-tier outfit Les Herbiers.

Giovani Lo Celso and Edinson Cavani scored at the Stade de France as PSG claimed their third treble in four seasons.

Germany defender Philipp Lahm will stay with Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich for at least one more season, Bayern president Franz Beckenbauer said on Thursday.

Contract negotiations between Lahm, 24, and Bayern broke down on Tuesday, raising the possibility the defender could move to another club.

Although contracted until 2009, Lahm has refused to sign an extension, but German tabloid Bild report new Bayern coach Jurgen Klinsmann, who takes over in July, does not want to see Lahm leave Munich in the summer.

Porto have tied Andre Silva down to a new five-year contract with a release clause of €60million.

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has given England coach Fabio Capello the green light to use Wayne Rooney in next week s friendly in Spain.

Rooney has not played since limping out of United s 1-0 win over Wigan soon after scoring on January 14 because of a hamstring injury.

The striker will not start United s game with West Ham United on Sunday, but Ferguson said that the player is close to a return to action.

He plans to talk to Capello late on Friday to outline the situation but said he would not have any objections if Rooney played a bit-part role in England s first friendly of 2009.

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has confirmed that he has not been contacted by any Premier League club over the availability of Simon Kjaer.

The 20-year-old defender has gained a string of admirers as a result of some stand-out displays in Serie A following his €4million move from Danish side FC Midtjylland in July 2008.

But Zamparini insists that Palermo will be looking to do all they can to keep hold of the Dane with the likes of Inter Milan, Juventus, Fiorentina, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City and, more recently Manchester United, being linked with Kjaer.
